Security Forces Kill 48 India-Backed Terrorists in Balochistan Operations: ISPR

Security forces have killed 48 terrorists linked to Indian proxies, Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij, during operations in different parts of Balochistan over the past 48 to 72 hours, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing said security forces carried out several intelligence-based operations in Mastung, Quetta, Kalat and Sibi, killing 36 terrorists.

On September 4, security forces detected and engaged terrorist movement during an operation in Mastung. An intense exchange of fire resulted in the killing of six Indian-sponsored terrorists. Ammunition and improvised explosive devices were also destroyed at the site.

“In another engagement, an IBO was conducted in general area Shaban, district Quetta. During the conduct of operation, own troops identified four Khwarij hideouts and after an ensuing fire exchange neutrali[s]ed 26 Khwarij,” the ISPR said.

In Kalat, security forces raided a terrorist hideout and killed two Indian-sponsored terrorists.

In Bhag area of Sibi district, security forces, with the support of local residents, foiled an attempt to attack the Bhag police station. Two Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed during the exchange of fire.

The ISPR said sanitisation operations were underway to locate and eliminate any other terrorists in the area.

The military said the counterterrorism campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam” will continue with full force to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

Pakistan has witnessed a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021.

According to the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), the two provinces remained the main hotspots for violence during the second quarter of 2026. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the worst-affected province.

The report said KP and Balochistan together accounted for nearly 96% of all violence-related deaths during the quarter. KP recorded more than 61% of the deaths, with 475 fatalities, while Balochistan reported 265 deaths, or 34%.

KP also recorded the highest number of violent incidents, with 151 cases, accounting for 57% of the national total. Balochistan recorded 94 incidents, or 35%.
