Ishaq Dar, Egyptian FM Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Developments

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a late-night telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, during which the two ministers reviewed bilateral relations and regional developments.

The two sides reaffirmed the close and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Egypt and expressed a commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Ishaq Dar and Badr Abdelatty also discussed developments across the region and stressed the importance of maintaining close consultations on matters of mutual concern.

The two ministers agreed to enhance coordination through the Regional Four (R4) Foreign Ministers’ framework, involving Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.

The consultations are aimed at promoting greater coordination among the four countries on regional issues and supporting efforts toward peace and stability.

The two foreign ministers also agreed to hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York.

The planned meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for the two sides to review bilateral cooperation further and exchange views on key regional and international developments.

The latest phone call reflects continued diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Egypt and their shared interest in strengthening coordination on issues affecting regional peace and stability.
