Pakistan Reports 37 Militants Killed in Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Along Afghan Border

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said the country has consistently worked to promote peace and stability in the region, while the protection and security of its citizens remains the government’s top priority. The ministry said the presence of terrorist centers in Afghanistan poses a growing threat to Pakistan. It added that militant hideouts were targeted to protect Pakistani citizens, with all possible precautionary measures taken to minimize risks to civilians.

According to the ministry, security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Kohat, Hangu and Thall on September 20, targeting militant hideouts and carrying out airstrikes. Nine militants described by the ministry as Indian-backed members of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed, while several others were wounded. Security forces also targeted three Fitna al-Khawarij positions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, including a center used by suicide bombers.

The ministry said the strike on the suicide bomber center killed 28 militants and resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition. It added that counterterrorism operations would continue under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam initiative, with operations aimed at eliminating what it described as terrorism backed by foreign elements.
