Ishaq Dar, GCC Secretary General Discuss Strengthening Pakistan-GCC Cooperation at UNGA

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, the GCC secretary general appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy.

He also acknowledged Pakistan’s close partnership with the GCC and its member states and highlighted the importance of continued engagement between Pakistan and the Gulf countries.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-GCC relations and cooperation.

The two sides discussed ways to expand cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, energy and security, along with other areas of mutual interest.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to working closely to promote regional peace, stability and prosperity.

The meeting reflected the importance attached by Pakistan and the GCC to maintaining close consultations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
