Lahore Basant 2027 Dates Changed Again, Sources

Lahore’s Basant 2027 dates have been changed once again, with the festival now expected to be held from March 12 to March 14, according to sources.

The Punjab Cabinet has approved a summary proposing the revised dates for the Basant celebrations in Lahore.

The Deputy Commissioner Lahore had forwarded a summary to the Punjab Home Department seeking a change in the previously announced dates.

Under the revised schedule, Basant festivities in Lahore are expected to take place on March 12, 13 and 14, 2027.

The latest change comes as the provincial authorities continue preparations for the festival and work on determining the arrangements and regulations governing kite flying and related activities.

Basant is traditionally associated with the arrival of spring and kite flying, particularly in Lahore. The festival has remained a major cultural event in Punjab, although its organisation has been subject to safety regulations and administrative restrictions over the years.

The revised dates are expected to provide authorities with additional time to finalise arrangements for the event, including security measures and implementation of rules related to kite flying.

The final schedule and applicable regulations will depend on the formal administrative process and notifications issued by the relevant Punjab authorities.

For residents and visitors planning to attend the festival, the revised March 12–14 schedule is therefore expected to be the key date range for Basant 2027 in Lahore.
