NAB Investigates Murad Saeed, Ali Amin Gandapur, Azam Swati and Amjad Ali

Several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Murad Saeed, Ali Amin Gandapur, Azam Swati and Amjad Ali, are facing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases and investigations following proceedings against the party’s founder.

Murad Saeed is reportedly under NAB investigation over alleged benami properties, frontmen and business investments. The inquiry also includes records related to a land purchase in Swat in 2020 and his sources of income.

Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has received a call-up notice from NAB, which has sought records of his assets and financial matters.

Azam Swati has also received a NAB notice in connection with an alleged embezzlement case involving more than Rs30 billion in Upper Kohistan.

Meanwhile, NAB is investigating Dr Amjad Ali over alleged assets beyond known sources of income and corruption. Five people have reportedly been summoned in connection with the inquiry.

The investigations have raised questions about PTI’s accountability stance, as several of its prominent leaders face scrutiny over their assets and financial dealings. The party, which has often demanded money trails and explanations from others, is now facing questions about the financial affairs of its own leadership.

The investigations remain subject to the findings of the relevant authorities, and the allegations have not necessarily been proven.
