PDMA and Met issue alert of rain and snowfall in KP and other parts from Wednesday to Friday.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued an alert.
It alrted the authorities concerned on rain and snowfall in in different parts of the province from Wednesday to Friday next.
The PDMA asked all the concerned district administrations to take precautionary measures to avert any human and material losses.
PDMA and Met issue alert of rain
It asked people they can contact PDMA helpline 1700 in case of any emergency.
Meanwhile, Met Office informed that another strong westerly weather system likely to enter in Pakistan on Tuesday evening.
It furtehr said that would produce more rains for two to three days, Wednesday till Friday.
Met forecast
It said that under the influence of this weather system, Met expects widespread rain/wind thunderstorm with snow.
That may fall over the hills in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Punjab from Wednesday to Friday.
Moreover, hail storm also remains expected at few places during this period.
Rain wind-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is also expected in Quetta, Zhob, Pashin, Harnai, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Panjgur, Ziarat, Kalat, Mastung from Tuesday to Thursday, while in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur and Shaheed Benazirabad on Tuesday and Wednesday. Dust storm is also expected in lower Sindh including Karachi during this period.
Heavy rain with intermittent thundershowers is also expected in Kashmir, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi khan and Faisalabad districts on Wednesday and Thursday.
Heavy rainfall can generate flash flooding and may trigger landslides in the vulnerable areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan from Wednesday to Friday.
