PM announces to end unannounced load shedding in Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday order to end the unannounced load shedding across the country immediately.

He made the announcement during an emergency meeting against power outages, in which officials briefed Shahbaz Sharif on the matter.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister ordered to end the unannounced load shedding and said that the duration of load shedding should be reduced even on the damaged feeders, people are facing problems due to the intensity of heat, so they should be provided relief.

It should be noted that long load shedding of electricity is going on across Pakistan including Karachi and Lahore, against which the Prime Minister had taken notice.

In Peshawar, citizens took to the streets to protest against power load shedding, residents of Akbar pura and nearby villages blocked Motorway M1 in protest.

The protesters said that load shedding is being done in Akbar pura and adjoining areas for 12 to 16 hours, until the unannounced load shedding is assured to reduce, they will not end the protest.

The PM also took notice of the load shedding in other parts of the country as well.

The duration of load shedding in Karachi, Lahore and other big and small cities has been reduced to 6 hours.

Due to unannounced and long load shedding during day or night, children, elderly, youth and women were worried.

Due to lack of electricity, water supply is also being affected in different cities. A significant increase has been witnessed in the heat stroke, diarrhea and gastro patients.

Citizens complain that electricity bills are increasing and electricity supply is decreasing.
