PM asks Foreign Minister to visit Iran, Saudi Arabia and US.

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced this in a video statement.

He said Pakistan has decided to advance diplomatic relations with other regional countries.

However, he said it aims at peaceful resolution of tensions between Iran and the United States.

PM asks Foreign Minister to visit

Qureshi said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed him to visit Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

He further said that the visits aim at pursuing Pakistan’s desire for peace and to settle matters.

Moreover, he said Pakistan will play whatever role it can do to protect the region from war.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan also called for de-escalation.

He said this, while talking to Oman’s Minister for Endowment and Religious Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdullah Assalami today.

Prime Minister Imran Khan called for immediate measures for de-escalation in the Middle East and Gulf region.

During meeting in Islamabad, he expressed deep concern over the evolving situation in the region.

Prime Minister calls for immediate measures

He further underlined the imperative of avoiding any further escalation.

The Prime Minister  stressed that war is in nobody’s interest.

He recalled that Pakistan has suffered greatly due to earlier regional conflicts.

Hence, PM Khan made it clear that Pakistan would not be part of any conflict in the region.

He also recalled his earlier efforts for facilitation of contacts between the United States and Iran.

Furthermore, he recollected similar efforts for Iran-Saudi peaceful resolution of differences and disputes.

He reiterated that Pakistan would always be a partner for peace. Besides, Pakistan would continue playing its role to defuse tensions, prevent a conflict, and preserve peace.
