PM congrats Army’s first Christian woman Brigadier

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated Helen Mary Roberts, a member of the Christian community of Pakistan, on her promotion to the rank of Brigadier in the Army Medical Corps.

In a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s House, the premier said that Helen Mary Roberts is the first female Brigadier from the minority community and the entire nation congratulates her, including him. Brigadier Helen Mary Roberts proved with her hard work that Pakistani women are not behind men in any field.

The statement further said that the entire nation, including the Pakistani Christian community, is proud of Brigadier Helen Mary Roberts and thousands of hardworking women like her from minority communities. Helen Mary Roberts’ hard work, dedication and passion for service to humanity is a beacon for women of the new generation, it added.

It should be noted that Helen Mary Roberts, the first Christian woman in the Pakistan Army, was appointed to the post of Brigadier.

Helen Mary Roberts has been posted as Brigadier in Pakistan Army Medical Corps.  This is the first time in the 76-year history of the Pakistan Army that a woman officer from a minority community has been promoted to the one-star rank of Brigadier.
