PM Khan witnesses signing of new agreement on Reko Diq project

Islamabad -The Governments of Pakistan and Balochistan have signed an settlement with Barrick Gold Corporation of Canada to restore the Reko Diq Project.

Prime Minister Imran Khan witnessed the signing rite in Islamabad on Sunday.

The settlement turned into signed on Sunday through representatives of the Federal and Balochistan Governments with a delegation of Barrick Gold led through Chief Executive Dr Mark Bristow.

The new mission employer will be owned 50 percentage through Barrick Gold. The final 50 percentage shareholding will be owned through Pakistan.

As a part of the Prime Minister’s vision, the Government of Balochistan shall now no longer incur any costs in improvement of the mines and its proportion of costs will be borne through the Federal Government.

The funding shall create over 8000 new jobs.

Addressing the rite, the Prime Minister emphasised on improvement of Balochistan and uplift of underdeveloped areas.

He was hoping the funding will mark the start of big scale investments in Balochistan that shall extrade the first-rate of lives of regular residents withinside the province.
