PML-N to elect new president tomorrow

Federal minister Rana Sanaullah has said Nawaz Sharif would elect new Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) president unopposed tomorrow (Tuesday) as no candidate filed nomination paper for the polls set to take place on May 28.

According to home, the party will elect its president during the central council called at Faletti’s Hotel Tuesday.

He made the announcement in a press conference at the Model Town.

Sanaullah said that according to the party’s Constitution, the process has been started for the party presidency polls as the Central Working Committee has accepted the resignation of Shehbaz Sharif as the president.

He said that Shehbaz will continued to hold the responsibilities till the election.

According to the PMLN Constitution, the Central Working Committee appointed the Election Commission.

As per the schedule, the nomination papers were issued May 27 from 9o’clock in the morning to 5o’clock and nomination papers would be received from 12:00 PM to 12:00 PM.

Rana Sanaullah said that if someone could not get the nomination papers for any reason, then they can be issued tomorrow (Tuesday).

The final list will be compiled at 3 pm.
