Pogba gets huge pay cut, now earning less than average Italian

It looks like Paul Pogba’s misery continues as Italian giant Juventus have decided to splash a big chuck from his salary after the French midfielder found guilty of using prohibited drug.

The 2018 World Cup winner was slapped with a four-year ban for using performance enhancing drug. However, he has expressed his intention to contest the decision.

However, Pogba, once the world’s most expensive footballer following Manchester United’s €105 million move from Juventus in 2016, now faces the possibility of living on an ordinary wage, which is lower than an income of an average Italian citizen.

“His salary has been drastically reduced and no longer impacts the Juventus accounts: from the €8 million net plus bonus that he signed per season to €2,000 euros net per month,” MARCA reported.

It is reported that his case settlement could take six or seven months. However, he will be linked with the Old Lady in a certain way, but cannot enter their training ground or work with his team-mates, till the ban is lifted.

With the average Italian earning just over €2,900 per month, Pogba’s drastic downfall is put into perspective.
