PPP will become a problem for govt the day it suffers: Fazlur Rehman

Jamiat ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has warned that the day Pakistan People Party (PPP) start suffering, it would become a problem for the Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz led coalition government.

Addressing a news conference in Multan, the JUIF chief said that his party took a clear stance on the election results.

“I do not think the government will be able to deliver because both the current assembly and the government are not strong,” he said.

The former senator said that they have no personal enmity with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and claimed that they have started a movement against election rigging, other parties also plan to join the movement.

He said that the constitution should prevail, the current assembly is very weak, so the day the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) suffered, it would be a problem for the government.

The JUI-F chief said that before the PTI’s protests, they have started the movement, if the nation does not protect the vote, then it will continue to go towards slavery.

Taking a jab at recent appointment on the key posts, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that some people have got good posts, they will continue to enjoy, the Chief Minister and The Governor are from my constituency who have not won the elections but are holding positions.

Rehman said that if the people vote for him, then he will become president and prime minister. “Who else is there to offer me the Premiership or the post of Chief minister?  We do not believe in such elections, so fresh elections should be held,”

On Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, he said that protests have been going on Pak-Afghan highways for several months, while our relations with Afghanistan are deteriorating.
