President calls for national narrative on population control thru campaigns.

President Dr Arif Alvi emphasised, while chairing the second meeting of Federal Task Force on Population in Pakistan on Friday.
He said that expanding outreach of family management services across the country remains important to control population growth.

He said at the meeting at the Aiwan-e-Sad that raising public awareness about the population explosion was of paramount importance.
President Alvi stressed developing national narrative on population control through campaigns. He also called for proactive involvement of religious leaders.
He expressed satisfaction over the progress made so far.
The President underscored concerted efforts a must for tackling this issue and ensure sustainable development of the country.
The participants got briefed on the progress made on the decisions taken in the first meeting.
Those attended the meeting included: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Asad Umer, PM’s Special Assistants Dr. Zafar Mirza and Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, CM Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman, provincial minister for Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Minister for Population Welfare Department Punjab Sardar Hashim Dogar, Minister for Population and Health Sindh Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuhu, Minister for Population Balochistan Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and Special Assistant to CM KP on Population Welfare Syed Ahmed Hussain Shah attended the meeting.
