President directs NDMA to ensure Personal Protective Equipment to hospitals.

He issued this directive during a briefing at the Awan-e-Sadr today (Friday).
Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Lt. General Muhammad Afzal briefed him.

President Dr. Arif Alvi asked him to ensure the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other necessary medical equipment to hospitals so as to provide better treatment to Coronavirus infected patients.
The Chairman highlighted the measures which NDMA took to support the health sector and medical community.
He said they provided them PPEs and medical equipment.
They also have sent sufficient PPEs to hospitals to cater to the needs of doctors and nurses.
He mentioned that NDMA had established a database of doctors and nurses and medical equipment for the first time.
NDMA head said it would remain very helpful for coordination purposes in future.
Lt. General Muhammad Afzal further informed that Frontier Works Organization (FWO) was establishing a 282 bed hospital in Islamabad for Corona patients.
The President appreciated the arrangements made by NDMA to cope with the current Coronavirus crisis.
Pakistan Coronavirus death toll

Earlier, Pakistan Coronavirus death toll rose to 66 while total cases reached 4601.

According to National Command and Operation Center, the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in the country rose to 4601.
It further reported 2279 confirmed cases  in Punjab, 1128 in Sindh and 620 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Moreover, NCOC reported 219 confirmed cases in Balochistan, 215 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 107 in Islamabad Capital Territory and 33 in Azad Kashmir.
727 people have so far recovered from the virus whilst the death toll stands at 66.
