President Raisi’s body found in wreckage of helicopter

The body of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash, has been found from the site of the incident.

The Iranian Red Crescent has confirmed that the bodies of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir have been found in the wreckage of the helicopter.

The Iranian Red Crescent says that the bodies will be transferred to Tabriz.

According to Iranian authorities, some bodies could not be recognized.

The recovered bodies have been shifted to Tabriz.

The first funeral prayers of the martyred will be offered tomorrow.

Earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian died when their helicopter crashed in mountain terrain in heavy fog, Iranian media confirmed Monday.

The pair were confirmed dead after the chopper crashed as it was crossing mountain terrain in heavy fog in the province of East Azerbaijan, Press TV reported.

The development was also confirmed by other Iranian media including the Mehr and Tasnim news agencies as well as the Reuters news agency.

Immediate cause of the crash was not given at the moment.
