President Zardari convenes Senate session tomorrow

President Asif Ali Zardari has convened the Senate session tomorrow.

President Asif Ali Zardari summoned the session of the Senate at 9 am tomorrow (Tuesday).

The new members, during the Senate meeting, will be sworn in and the chairman and deputy chairman of the upper house will also be elected.

It should be noted that after the election on 30 seats of the Upper House (Senate) recently, Pakistan People’s Party has become the largest party with 24 senators.

The number of senators of PTI is 19 while the number of senators of Pakistan Muslim League-N is also 19.

Pakistan People’s Party has nominated senior leader and former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani as the Senate chairman.

President Zardari has appointed Senator-elect Ishaq Dar as the presiding officer for the session. The PML-N leader will conduct the election of the Senate chairman and his deputy.
