Prime Minister visits AJK to review latest situation due to landslide and snow slide. Death toll rose to 61 last night. 

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed for immediate assistance after deaths due to glacier and land slide related incidents following heavy snowfall.

It hit different areas of Neelum Valley Azad Jammau and Kashmir (AJK).

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan tweeted  about Prime Minister’s visit to Azad Kashmir today.

She said he would personally review the latest situation after the incident of snow slide.

He will also inquire after the injured.

In a tweet on Wednesday, she said the Prime Minister took prompt notice of the mishap of snow slide.

Furthermore, he issued directives to the authorities concerned to take relief and rescue measures at the earliest.

She said the Prime Minister has directed the concerned institutions to provide full assistance to the affectees and the vulnerable citizens.

Moreover, she said he had directed to shift the affected people to safe places.

PM Khan further directed provide best medical facilities to those injured in the incident.

Azad Kashmir government is exercising all-out resources and capabilities in collaboration with the concerned departments to help the affected families and citizens.   

She said we are with our fellow citizens in this hour of trial.
