PTI founder appears in NAB amendment case

On the orders of the Supreme Court, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan appeared via video link in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendments case today.

The PTI founder appeared via video link from Adiala Jail.

A 5-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan is hearing the case in which Justice Aminuddin, Justice Jamal Mandukhel, Justice Athar Manullah and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi are part of the bench.

According to GTV, the founder PTI was wearing a blue shirt during the appearance.  Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa called the Attorney General to the rostrum.

In Supreme Court, Makhdoom Ali Khan started the arguments while a large number of PTI leaders were also present in the courtroom.

Apart from this, the former prime minister’s party had expressed concerns about the ban on meetings in Adiala jail, saying that this move was done to keep the party chief away from the Supreme Court proceedings in which a 5-member bench of Imran Khan.

Earlier, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court had declared the NAB amendments null and void, against which the federal and provincial governments had filed intra-court appeals. The PTI founder had requested to appear on its own in the NAB amendments case. The SC bench allowed PTI founder’s appearance through video link.
