Raisi for enhancing Pak-Iran trade volume to $10bn

Iranian president has expressed his desire to enhance the trade volume with Pakistan to $10 billion.

Speaking to the media in Tehran before leaving for a three-day visit to Pakistan, Ebrahim Raisi said that Islamabad is a neighbouring and brotherly Islamic country and Tehran has very good political, economic and religious relations with it.

Raisi further said that Iran and Pakistan have a common position on various global issues. Both the countries have a common position on human rights, Palestine and anti-terrorist war. Pakistan and Iran cooperate with each other on related issues, he added.

The Iranian president said that there will be talks with the authorities in Pakistan on security, economic and trade issues.

Raisi said that the volume of mutual trade with Pakistan will be taken upto $10 billion, adding that Islamabad can benefit from the Iranian market.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi along with a high-level delegation has reached Pakistan’s capital Islamabad on a three-day official visit.

The Iranian president is also accompanied by the First Lady and foreign minister.

Several important agreements are likely to be signed during the three-day visit of Raisi.

President Raisi will meet President Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senate chairman, and Speaker of National Assembly.

Raisi will also visit Lahore and Karachi and meet with the provincial leadership. The Iranian president will be accompanied by his spouse and a high-level delegation comprising the foreign minister and other members of the cabinet, senior officials as well as a large business delegation, a Foreign Office spokesperson.
