Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted 35 PTI MNAs resignations

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Tuesday accepted the resignations of 35 PTI lawmakers who had resigned after the vote of no confidence against former prime minister Imran Khan in April last year.

The denotification of PTI MNA’s eliminates any possibility whatsoever for any VONC or vote of no-confidence against PDM government.

Asad Qaiser, Qasim Suri, Pervez Khattak, Ali Amin Gandapur, Murad Saeed, Shehryar Khan Afridi, and Imran Khattak are among the lawmakers whose resignations have been accepted.

In April.2022,  123 PTI MNA’s resigned from National Assembly however their reignations were being hold by National assembly speaker.

On July 28.2022, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf only accepted 11 PTI MNA’s resignation for bye polls.

In July the NA speaker accepted the resignations of several key PTI leaders, including former human rights minister Shireen Mazari, ex-interior minister Ijaz Ahmed Shah, ex-state minister for parliamentary affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and ex-state minister for information and broadcasting Farrukh Habib, under Article 64 (1) of the Constitution.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also issued a notification for the de-notification of the National Assembly members.
