Re-polling underway in Ghotki, Kohat, Khushab

Re-polling is underway at a few polling stations of Ghotki, Kohat and Khushab, GTV reported Thursday.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, polling that was earlier postponed due to various reasons will continue without a break from 8 am to 5 pm today and voters will be able to cast their votes.

It may be recalled that there were riots in 26 polling stations of NA-88 Khushab, 8 polling stations of PK-90 Kohat and two polling stations of PS-18 Ghotki.

After the incidents of insecurity, the polling process at the said polling stations was postponed by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Latif Khosa had said that no government can be formed without his imprisoned leader Imran Khan.

Khosa made these remarks while speaking to reporters in Islamabad. He said that the election results were correct up till the issuance of the Form 45.

He claimed that according to Form 45, 170 PTI-backed candidates were winnings. “They are not independent because PTI exists as a legal and constitutional party. Calling us independent is wrong and illegal.”

The PTI lawmaker said if reserved seats were added to this number then PTI would cross the 200 mark in the National Assembly.

“The largest political party which emerges in the election is given the right to form the government,” said Khosa.

He terms power-sharing formula between the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) “a joke with democracy”.
