Shab-e-Barat being observed with religious fervor today

Shab-e-Barat is being celebrated across the country today with religious fervor and zeal.

Special arrangements have been made for late night prayers and night vigils at mosques and homes.

The 15^th night of the month of Shaban is the night of blessings and mercy.

The night is also called Lailat al-Mubarakah, the night of blessings, Lailat al-Rahmah, the night of mercy and Lailat al-Saq, the night of distribution of affairs.

In the Shab-e-Barat gatherings, special prayers will be offered at mosques, repentance from sins before Allah Almighty. Faithful will also seek forgiveness and mercy, strengthening of faith and well-being, seeking provision of sustenance. Special prayers for the prosperity of Pakistan will also be made. Muslims will also observe fasting on 15^th of Shaban.

In connection with Shab-e-Barat, mosques have been decorated with colorful lights. Citizens will visit the graves of their loved ones, lay flowers, and recite Fatiha.
