Shehbaz Sharif tenders resignation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has tendered his resignation from the presidentship of PML-N.

The prime minister has forwarded his resignation to the party’s secretariat.

Shahbaz Sharif had already informed PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif about his decision to resign a couple of days ago.

The meeting of the PML-N central executive committee has been called on May 18 in Lahore.

Nawaz Sharif will be elected party president in the meeting.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is unprecedented in the world.

“The close relations between the two brotherly countries spanned over decades,” the prime minister said in an interview with Al Arabiya, a Saudi state-owned international news television channel today.

The interview comes days after a Saudi foreign minister and investors’ delegation visited Islamabad.

He said that the government’s first priority is to revive the economy. He added that recent high-level ties with Saudi Arabia will improve economy.
