The Pakistan Cricket Board is mulling over to bring legendary West Indies batter Sir Vivian Richards as a mentor for the Pakistan team in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

The tournament will take place in the West Indies and the United States in June.

A senior PCB official confirmed the development in an interview saying that the board is eager to benefit from his expertise, particularly during the West Indies portion of the tournament.

“The board is highly impressed with how Richards has performed as a mentor with the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. They are keen to have him mentor the Pakistan squad for the World T20,” the source revealed.

However, one major challenge in appointing Richards is his existing media commitments during the tournament.

“They are trying to find a solution because the Board is very keen on having Richards as the mentor, but he has not yet agreed to anything,” the official added.
