Indian team set to tour Pakistan for Blind T20 World Cup
The Indian blind cricket team is set to tour Pakistan for the Blind Cricket T20 World Cup 2024, as announced by the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) on Friday.
The tournament will feature teams from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the host nation, Pakistan.
The World Cup is scheduled to take place from November 23 to December 3, with matches being held in Lahore and Multan. Lahore will host 15 matches, including the opening game between Pakistan and South Africa.
Multan will host nine matches, culminating in the semi-finals and the final. A highly anticipated match between Pakistan and India is scheduled for November 25.
India has dominated previous editions of the Blind T20 World Cup, winning all three tournaments held in 2012, 2017, and 2022.
This edition marks the first time the tournament will be held outside of India. Despite ongoing uncertainties regarding the participation of both nations in the forthcoming Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian blind cricket team was quick to confirm its participation in this year’s event.
