Dubai confirmed for Pakistan, India tie in ICC Champions Trophy?
With the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has accepted the demand of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the issue of the ICC Champions Trophy, the venue for the high-octane clash is also decided.
According to report, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has assured broadcasters that match between Pakistan and India will be played in Dubai.
However, some issues regarding the “Partnership or Fusion Formula” remain unresolved.
Media reports said that Pakistan and India will not play in each other’s country for 3 years. The Green Shirts will not play ICC events in India until 2027.
The reports added that India and Sri Lanka are the joint hosts of the T20 World Cup 2026 and Pakistan will play its matches at a neutral venue.
The recent meeting of the ICC ended without any progress, with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in attendance.
However, reports suggest that Naqvi met with ICC Chief Jay Shah, and an online board meeting is expected on Saturday to finalize matters.
Surprisingly, the tournament schedule has yet to be finalized. A meeting was scheduled for yesterday, where PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was present, but unresolved issues with India over the “Partnership or Fusion Formula” persist.
Under the partnership formula for a lasting solution to the Champions Trophy dispute, according to which both Pakistan and India will not play any event in each other’s country.
The formula stated that India and Pakistan will play their matches in Dubai for the next 3 years.
There has been no response so far from ICC, BCCI and PCB on the Indian media’s claim.
