31 January, 2025 10:56

The Pakistan Cricket Board has prepared the schedule of events of the ICC Champions Trophy.

Sources said that the Pakistan Cricket Board has prepared the schedule for the opening ceremonies of the Champions Trophy and Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has given the final approval for all the ceremonies.

Three stadiums in the country, including Pindi, have been given a new look for the Champions Trophy.

The opening ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium will be held on February 7, in which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to be the chief guest.

The sources said the opening ceremony of National Stadium Karachi will be held on February 11. President Asif Zardari will be the expected chief guest of the event.

The inaugural ceremony of the Champions Trophy will be held at Huzuri Bagh on February 16. Important national personalities, cricketers and ICC officials will participate in the event.

Due to the schedule of the event and the delay in the arrival of the teams to Pakistan, the participation of the captains of all the teams in the opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy is not guaranteed and the press conference of the captains of all the 8 teams and the photo shoot with the trophy will not be possible.

It should be noted that the ICC Champions Trophy will start from February 19, where the opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.
