Younis Khan predicts Pakistan will reach this stage in Champions Trophy

Former Test captain Younis Khan has expressed hope that Pakistan will be able to make it to the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy.

Talking to the media, the former Pakistan captain said that the selected team for the mega event should be fully supported. The players have come under pressure due to undue criticism. The Pakistan cricket team for the Champions Trophy consists of the best players available.

He said that it is very important for the players to be mentally fit to perform well. The Pakistan team has the ability to make it to the top four teams of the Champions Trophy as senior batsman Fakhar Zaman, who has made his place in the national team, can once again play his role in Pakistan’s victory by playing a memorable innings.

Younis Khan said that the Pakistan team announced for the Champions Trophy is fairly balanced as there are senior and best batters like Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in batting, while in bowling, Pakistan will get the services of fast bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah.

He said that it is unfortunate for Pakistan that young and some talented batter Saim Ayub has become unfit and the Green Shirts will not be able to take advantage of Saim Ayub’s full potential in the mega event.
