Karachi’s newly upgraded National Stadium inaugurated
Karachiโs National Bank Stadium was inaugurated on Tuesday after extensive renovations, preparing the venue for the ongoing Tri-Nation Series and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The event was led by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) completed the upgrades in record time, introducing a new pavilion, enhanced dressing rooms, upgraded hospitality areas, and improved lighting and digital screens.
The stadium now features 350 LED lights and over 5,000 additional spectator seats.
The inauguration ceremony featured a fireworks display and live performances by renowned Pakistani musicians.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the transformation of the stadium, which was last overhauled for the 1996 World Cup, as a milestone in Pakistanโs cricket infrastructure.
With a rich history of hosting major cricket events, the renovated stadium aims to provide an improved experience for players and fans while inspiring future generations of cricketers.
