09 March, 2025 13:35

New Zealand have won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the Champions Trophy final in Dubai.

India are unchanged while New Zealand have made one change to the side in a high-stakes encounter.

India and New Zealand are facing each other in the final of the Champions Trophy after 25 years.

In the final of the second edition of the ICC Champions Trophy played in Nairobi 25 years ago, New Zealand defeated India by four wickets thanks to Chris Keynes’s brilliant century.
In the 2002 Champions Trophy, India and Sri Lanka were declared joint champions, after which India won the title by defeating England in 2013 and lost to Pakistan by 180 runs in 2017.
India are playing the Champions Trophy final for the fifth time, while New Zealand for the third time.
The two teams have met twice in the Champions Trophy and both have won one match each.
