10 March, 2025 11:30

Champions Trophy, one of the most important tournaments in the ICC, gives a special white coat to all the players of the winning team.

This coat is considered a symbol of the team’s hard work, determination and success.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), every match of the Champions Trophy matters and teams compete not only for the trophy but also for this precious white coat, which is a symbol of superiority and determination.

The more white coat enhances the glory of champions as an honorary badge and is a sign of unparalleled determination that inspires generations. This tradition started in the sixth edition of the Champions Trophy in South Africa in 2009, when Australia, led by Ricky Ponting, were given these white coats after defeating New Zealand.

Further, India won the title by defeating England in 2013, while Pakistan won the Champions Trophy by defeating India by 180 runs in 2017 and the team under the leadership of Sarfraz Ahmed won the honor of wearing this white coat.
