New Zealand thump Pakistan to clinch Twenty20 series
New Zealand beat Pakistan by 115 runs in the fourth T20I to clinch the series here at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
Chasing a 221-run target, Pakistan got off to a poor start against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui, as the top order crumbled early, leaving the Green Shirts reeling at 34-4 after 5 overs.
Openers Hasan Nawaz (1) and Mohammad Haris (2) fell cheaply, with both dismissed inside the opening two overs. Captain Agha Salman scored only 1 failing to make an impact. Shadab Khan followed soon after. He was bowled by Zak Foulkes for just 1. Muhammad Irfan made 24 while Samad remained the top scorer with 44 runs.
Earlier, New Zealand scored 220 for six wickets in 20 overs.
Pakistan had won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Kiwis made couple of changes from the team that lost in Auckland on Friday by nine wickets. Zak Foulkes and Will O´Rourke replaced Kyle Jamieson and Ben Sears.
