New Zealand beat Pakistan in second ODI to secure decisive lead in series

New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 84 runs in the second match of the three-match ODI series and took a decisive lead in the series.

In the match played at Seddon Park in Hamlets, New Zealand team scored 292 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs.

Kiwi wicketkeeper Mitchell Hay scored an unbeaten 99 off 78 balls, hitting 7 sixes and 7 fours in his innings.

Chasing a target of 292 runs, Pakistan team could only score 208 runs and the entire team was dismissed. Faheem Ashraf scored 73 and Naseem Shah scored 51 runs for Pakistan.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first.

Kiwi openers provided a good start of 54 runs and the first wicket fell to Nick Kelly in the sixth over, who was dismissed by Haris Rauf for 31 runs.

In the 10th over, the second opener Rhys Mariu also fell to Wasim Junior for 18 runs, at that time New Zealand’s score was 71 runs.

Mohammad Waseem Jr. and Sufyan Muqeem took two wickets each, while Faheem Ashraf, Akif Javed and Haris Rauf took one wicket each.
