IPL vs PSL: How prize money highlights difference between the two T20 leagues
The prize money of the world’s richest Indian premier league (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is being compared by the cricket fans.
According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a prize money of $2.32 million (i.e. more than 63.7 crore Indian rupees) for the winning team of the Indian Premier League (IPL), while the champion team of the PSL will be awarded only $500,000 (i.e. Rs14.5 crore).
The difference in prize money between the champion teams of the leagues of the two countries is more than 49 million rupees.
Similarly, the runner-up team will be given $1.5 million (i.e. more than 41 crore 24 lakh rupees) in the IPL, while the runners-up team of the PSL will be entitled to only $2 00,000 (about Rs5crore 61 lakh).
The third and fourth-placed teams in the IPL will be paid over $800,00 (i.e. more than 222.9 million) and more than $700,000 (i.e. more than 207 million), respectively. On the other hand, no prize money has been allocated for the third and fourth positions in the PSL.
