Is Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalimi today’s match postponed?

08 May, 2025 15:24

Today’s PSL 10 match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, scheduled at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, may be postponed after an Indian drone crashed near the venue, according to reports.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has urgently called a high-level meeting with the Ministry of Interior to review the situation. The meeting will decide if today’s game — and possibly other upcoming matches — should go ahead.

Due to growing security concerns, the rest of the PSL matches might be moved to Karachi for safety reasons.

The drone crash earlier today near the stadium has raised serious concerns for the safety of players, officials, and fans, especially with increased border tensions and several recent drone incidents across Pakistan.

Adding to the worries, the airspace near Rawalpindi is partially closed, which could create problems for team travel and crowd management.

A source close to PCB said, “There’s a strong chance today’s match will be postponed. Safety comes first, and we’re working closely with the Ministry of Interior.”

The PCB is also reviewing the status of future PSL matches, depending on how the security situation develops.
