Pakistan Army to provide security for Pakistan-Bangladesh series

Pakistan-Bangladesh series
The Government of Pakistan has approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army alongside civil armed forces for the upcoming T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh, media reports confirmed on Friday.
The move comes as part of enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators amid rising concerns around international sporting events. The deployment demonstrates the government’s strong commitment to maintaining peace and order during major tournaments.
All three T20I matches will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, with the schedule expected to be announced soon.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled a 16-member squad for the highly anticipated series. Salman Ali Agha will continue as the T20I captain, while Mike Hesson is set to take charge in his first assignment as head coach of the national side.
According to the PCB, the squad was selected based on standout performances in the ongoing HBL PSL 10, which concludes on May 25.
The series is expected to attract large crowds, and the deployment of the army and law enforcement agencies aims to provide a secure and welcoming environment for all attendees.
