10-member Bangladesh squad lands in Lahore for T20I series

25 May, 2025 12:10

The first group of the Bangladesh cricket team has arrived in Lahore for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Pakistan.

The initial 10-member contingent features players such as Hasan Mahmud, Mohammad Tanvir Islam, and Parvez Hossain Emon. Tanzim Hasan Sakib and several support staff members are also among the first batch to reach the city.

Bangladesh’s squad will arrive in three separate groups ahead of the series. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh will conduct training sessions at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 26 and 27. Captains of both sides are scheduled to address a pre-match press conference on May 27.

All three T20Is are slated to take place at Gaddafi Stadium, with matches set for May 28, May 30, and June 1. The games will be played on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday respectively, with all fixtures starting at 8:00 PM local time.

Originally, Bangladesh was to arrive on May 21 in two groups for a five-match series set to begin on May 25 in Faisalabad. However, due to logistical challenges and security concerns, the itinerary was revised to a three-match series entirely hosted in Lahore. The changes followed recent tensions between Pakistan and India.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 16-member squad for the series, naming Salman Ali Agha as captain and Shadab Khan as vice-captain. The selection is based on standout performances in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL X).
