Rashid Khan’s Incredible Six in The Hundred Goes Viral — Watch here
Rashid Khan, Afghanistan’s spin wizard and Oval Invincibles’ star player, has once again grabbed headlines — not for his trademark leg-spin, but for a jaw-dropping six that has lit up social media during the ongoing edition of The Hundred in England.
The Shot That Broke the Internet
In a match against Birmingham Phoenix, Rashid Khan played a stunning flick shot off former New Zealand pacer Tim Southee that left fans speechless. Anticipating a fuller ball on leg stump, Rashid shuffled across the crease, got into position early, and flicked it flat over deep square leg for six.
The shot, both stylish and powerful, was praised across platforms. The Hundred’s official social media accounts shared the clip, calling it “outrageous,” while fans reacted with phrases like “unbelievable shot” and “pure class.” Rashid ended with a quickfire 16 off 9 balls, hitting two sixes and helping Oval Invincibles post 180/8 in their 100-ball innings.
Despite his fireworks, Birmingham Phoenix chased down the total and won the match by four wickets.

From Surgery to Comeback
Rashid’s recent form in The Hundred is a refreshing change from what he described as the “lowest point” of his career during IPL 2025. After undergoing back surgery following the 2023 Cricket World Cup, Rashid returned too early to competitive cricket, aiming to lead from the front for Gujarat Titans.
Unfortunately, the gamble backfired. In 15 IPL matches, Rashid could manage only 9 wickets, with a high bowling average of 57.11 and a disappointing economy rate of 9.34. He was smashed for 33 sixes, making it his worst IPL season ever.
A Much-Needed Break
After the IPL, Rashid took a two-month break from cricket to fully recover, both physically and mentally. The result? A visibly sharper Rashid Khan has now returned — not only spinning the ball better but also contributing with match-turning cameos lower down the order.
His shot against Southee is more than just a viral clip — it’s a sign that Rashid is back, hungrier and stronger than ever.
