Yasir Sultan Wins Bronze for Pakistan at Asian Throwing Championship 2025
Seoul, South Korea – Friday, August 22, 2025: Pakistan’s national javelin throw champion, Yasir Sultan, made the country proud by winning a bronze medal at the Asian Throwing Championship 2025. The event took place in South Korea, where athletes from across Asia competed for top honors.
Yasir Sultan, the only Pakistani participant in this championship, impressed with a throw of 77.43 meters in his final attempt. His road to the podium was not easy, as his first and fifth throws were declared fouls. Despite the pressure, he managed 75.79m in his second attempt, 72.57m in the third, and 72.88m in the fourth. It was his sixth throw that secured the medal for Pakistan.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem could not take part in the event due to fitness problems. He suffered a calf strain, and doctors advised him not to go through heavy training. Because of this, he missed his scheduled event in Switzerland.
Speaking about his recovery, Arshad Nadeem said:
“I had to skip the Switzerland event. Now, I will leave for England on July 15. My full focus is on the World Championship in Tokyo this September.”
