PCB to Release Documentary Celebrating 10 Years of PSL
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced plans to produce a documentary marking the 10-year journey of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Covering the league’s evolution from 2016 to 2025, the film will highlight both the highs and lows, along with key milestones in its history.
The documentary will focus on significant moments, including the transition of the PSL from Dubai to Pakistan and the initiatives taken to bring international players to compete in the country.
It will also explore the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and how the league managed to continue operations despite the difficult circumstances.
Further, the film aims to showcase how the PSL has grown into a leading global T20 league, establishing itself as a prominent international cricketing brand.
In recent recognition, BBC Sport ranked the PSL as the world’s second most exciting franchise cricket league. The analysis evaluated global T20 leagues based on factors such as average sixes per match, dot ball percentage, home ground advantage, bowling styles, and matches decided in the final over or ball.
According to the report, the PSL secured second place overall, just behind the Indian Premier League (IPL), which led in close finishes. In final-over matches, the IPL recorded 28.9 percent, the PSL followed with 27.5 percent, and The Hundred ranked third at 24.4 percent.
