Pakistan Aiming to Play Fearless Cricket in Every Match: Saim Ayub

DUBAI – Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has said the team is determined to play fearless cricket throughout the ongoing tournament, not only against India but in every match.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the much-anticipated Pakistan–India clash, Ayub stressed that while the match carries great importance for fans, the team prepares equally for all fixtures.

Ayub highlighted that Pakistan is not depending on just one or two players. “It’s a squad of 11 to 15. We want every player to contribute in a match-winning way so that a strong combination is built,” he said. He added that trust within the team is strong, and any player can step up to win matches.

Discussing pitch conditions in Dubai, Ayub noted that the surface looked dry and batting first could be an option. However, he said the final decision will depend on match-day conditions. “If three spinners seem suitable, we will play them. If fast bowlers are more appropriate, the coaches will go with that,” he explained.

Ayub stressed the importance of improvement and moving forward. “What happened yesterday is not important. We are focusing on what can be done better now,” he said, adding that management has urged players to keep learning and stay positive.

The young opener said Pakistan’s ultimate goal is to win the tournament. “This is the most important event for us. We want to win it by playing fearless cricket,” he concluded.
