Women’s ODI hundred records: Aussie star joins second place with quick 57-ball century

20 September, 2025 18:15

Beth Mooney smashed a brilliant 57-ball century to guide Australia in the series decider against India in Delhi.

Australia started strongly after captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and chose to bat. Healy scored a quick 30 off 18 balls before getting out, but the run rate was already close to ten an over. Georgia Voll also played a superb innings, scoring 81 from 68 balls, helping Australia reach 150 runs in just over 21 overs.

Ellyse Perry (68 off 72 balls) then joined Mooney, and together they built a massive 106-run partnership in just 71 balls. The Indian bowlers struggled to stop the flow of runs on a flat pitch.

Mooney reached her fifty in only 31 balls and kept attacking. She hit three boundaries in one over from Kranti Goud, moving to 98. Soon after, she reached her century with ease, becoming the joint second-fastest centurion in women’s ODI history, alongside Karen Rolton. Only Meg Lanning’s 45-ball hundred is faster.

This was also the fastest ODI century ever scored against India in women’s cricket. Mooney eventually went on to score 138 runs from 75 balls before being run out.

Australia posted a massive total of 412 in 47.5 overs – their joint-highest ODI score, equalling their record from the 1997 World Cup against Denmark.
