Asia Cup 2025: Pakistani Team to Have Notable Changes Ahead of Today’s Crucial Match Against India
Pakistan is expected to make notable changes to its playing XI ahead of today’s crucial Asia Cup Super Four encounter against India, media sources reported.
Following the disappointing loss to India in the group stage, the team management is reportedly set to adjust the lineup in pursuit of a stronger performance. According to sources, two players from the previous match against India are not likely to feature in today’s game.
A 12-man squad has been shortlisted, but the inclusion of Khushdil Shah—who replaced Faheem Ashraf in the UAE fixture—appears uncertain for the final XI. Middle-order batter Hassan Nawaz and spinner Sufiyan Muqeem are also expected to be left out, with the management opting for a revised approach.
Pakistan is believed to be preparing a pace-heavy bowling attack to counter India’s batting strength, shifting away from the spin-oriented strategy deployed earlier in the tournament.
Pakistan’s Probable Playing XI:
Saim Ayub
Sahibzada Farhan
Fakhar Zaman
Faheem Ashraf
Salman Ali Agha
Mohammad Nawaz
Hussain Talat
Mohammad Haris (Wicketkeeper)
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Haris Rauf
Abrar Ahmed
