In a moment of national pride, Pakistani brothers Muhammad Ayaan Khan and Muhammad Saaim Khan have both secured gold medals at the Pugnator Youth Grand Slam Championship, an international Taekwondo competition held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The prestigious Pugnator Open International Championship 2025 took place at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta from October 3 to 5, drawing top youth martial artists from across Asia, including competitors from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and Pakistan. The event not only celebrated athletic excellence but also promoted international camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Ayaan and Saaim delivered exceptional performances in their respective Taekwondo categories, rising above tough competition to bring home gold for Pakistan.

The achievement adds to a growing list of recent successes for Pakistan’s young Taekwondo athletes. Just earlier in August 2025, Syed Ameer Hamza, Muhammad Umar, Hammad Nadeem, and Shamil Ali secured four medals at the 7th International Taekwondo Cup in Nilai, Malaysia.

Additional gold medalists at the Pugnator Championship included Syed Hadi Jafri in the 45 kg category, while Tayiba Ashraf made a remarkable mark by winning three gold medals in the virtual fight, pair poomsae, and 49 kg fight. Sumbul Fatima also showcased her talent by earning two golds and one silver across different events.

Pakistan’s growing success on the international Taekwondo stage reflects the country’s rising youth talent and potential in martial arts.
