Traffic Plan Announced for Pakistan vs South Africa Test Match in Rawalpindi from October 20–24
City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has released a detailed traffic plan for the upcoming Test match between Pakistan and South Africa, scheduled from October 20 to 24 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. After Pakistan’s victory in the first Test, public interest has significantly increased, leading to higher security and traffic measures.
According to City Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam, more than 367 traffic wardens and officers will be deployed around the stadium to ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience. Authorities have outlined special routes and diversions to manage heavy traffic during match days.
Traffic coming from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad towards Islamabad Expressway, while vehicles traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be redirected from Sixth Road towards Saidpur Road. In addition, Stadium Road, from Ninth Avenue Chowk to Double Road, will remain closed for general traffic throughout the matches.
To reduce inconvenience, alternative routes via IJP Road and Faizabad will be available. The traffic police have also set up special parking areas at Civil Aviation Ground, Shehbaz Sharif Park, and Government Graduate College Satellite Town. From these points, a shuttle service will transport cricket fans directly to the stadium.
For public awareness, updated traffic information will be regularly shared through social media and local radio channels. The traffic police have urged citizens to follow the guidelines and use designated routes to avoid delays.
