Wahab Riaz Likely to Become Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Head Coach
Former Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz is expected to be appointed as the new head coach of the national women’s cricket team, according to sources. An official announcement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to come soon.
The position became vacant after Mohammad Wasim’s contract ended. The PCB then started looking for new candidates for the role.
Wahab Riaz, who played for Pakistan for many years, has also worked as the senior manager of the men’s team and served on the national selection committee.
Although he has no previous coaching experience, Wahab has completed a Level 2 coaching certification course, which makes him eligible for the job. His strong knowledge of international cricket and recent management experience are seen as advantages.
If confirmed, Wahab will replace Mohammad Wasim and take charge before the women’s team’s upcoming international series.
