RIYADH: Pakistan’s javelin star Arshad Nadeem once again proved why he is one of the finest athletes in the region. He successfully defended his Islamic Solidarity Games gold medal on Wednesday at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Stadium.

His teammate Muhammad Yasir also delivered a strong performance and claimed the silver medal, giving Pakistan a memorable 1–2 finish.

Arshad started the final with a throw of 75.44m, which immediately put him in first place. His best throw of the day came in his second attempt, reaching an impressive 83.05m, strengthening his lead. He followed that with 82.48m in his third attempt, showing complete control throughout the event.

He later managed throws of 77.06m and 77.98m, while his fifth attempt was ruled invalid. Despite that, none of the other competitors came close to the 80m mark, making Arshad’s victory clear from early on.

Muhammad Yasir secured silver with his longest throw of 76.04m, achieved in his final attempt. Nigeria’s Samuel Adams Kure won the bronze with 76.01m, slightly behind Yasir.

It was a dominant day for Pakistan in javelin, with both athletes standing proudly on the podium.
