PSL ranks as the most searched term in India this year

Google’s 2025 annual search report has revealed that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is still one of the most searched sports events in India. This shows that cricket lovers in India continue to follow PSL closely, even during difficult political times.

The report shows that Indians search for many topics related to technology, sports, and culture. Even though there were political tensions between India and Pakistan, a border issue in May, and restrictions on Pakistani celebrities and sports content, people in India still searched for PSL match updates, scores, and results.

Indian TV channels were not allowed to broadcast PSL X, but this did not stop fans from following the tournament online. PSL remained among the top sports-related searches in India, even months before the start of PSL 11.

The next PSL season is expected to begin in April next year, and it will include two new teams. This has already created a lot of excitement among fans. Famous international players like Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali have also announced that they will play in PSL instead of the IPL this season.

To increase global interest, the PSL trophy will go on a promotional tour in the UK and the US. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also planning big international roadshows, including one in the United States. Another major event is being prepared at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, where investors and cricket fans will be invited to learn more about the league’s future plans.

The addition of two new teams has attracted strong interest from buyers around the world. Through these international promotions, the PCB wants to show that PSL is not only a cricket league but also a growing global business.
